On 10th November 2016, volunteers from Song Fa Bak Kut Teh and Big Big Heart paid a special home visit to Lucus Oon and his mother, Vanessa, to follow up on his development and how the family is coping.
Among the volunteers, Ms Diana Yeo and Ms Shermaine Tng, Business Development Manager and Marketing Executive of Song Fa Bak Kut Teh, respectively, delivered a lunch treat consisting of Bak Kut Teh and other dishes which were prepared specifically for the family. Lucus was also presented with a bagful of surprises containing interactive learning toys for his development.
Like every child who loves a surprise, Lucus conveyed his delight accompanied by his highly energetic body language. With a wide smile spread across his face, he began to unwrap the gifts with excitement, diverting his attention away from the television – which was his favourite past time.
As Lucus displayed his affection for the guest, it was heart-warming for the volunteers to witness significant improvement in his physical development. With his progress, it is hopeful that things will become better for the family.
Come 19th November 2016, Saturday, Big Big Heart and Song Fa Bak Kut Teh are organising an on-ground donation drive to raise funds and help alleviate medical and living expenses for Lucus.
The ‘Smile, Lucus’ donation drive will be held in 3 of Song Fa Bak Kut Teh’s outlets – Chinatown Point, JEM and Seletar Mall – from 11.30am till 9pm. Do come and show your support for the cause.
